India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather alert regarding the rapid development of a low-pressure system over the Bay of Bengal, which looked like it would soon intensify into a cyclone. Gradual strengthening is anticipated during the system's westward track toward the southern coast.

The developing weather system is likely to take 48 hours at most for it to become a depression, with the possibility of intensifying into a cyclonic storm soon after, as stipulated in an IMD release. It has also been confirmed by the latest modelling output that the aspect of the cyclone's track remains under observation, with the most likely impact being felt in coastal regions of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, and Puducherry.

Heavy Rain Forecast

At many points, IMD predicts light to moderate thunderstorm with lightning strikes and strong winds as a side effect of the storm warning in the southern states.

Tamil Nadu & Puducherry: Extremely heavy rainfall is forecast for coastal districts.

An ad-hoc informant from the area pointed out two great threats-turned-advantages during initial meetings. These were overshadowed by the failure of the polity in addressing citizen trust. As a result of the failure of this new type of lockdown, the future of the polity would run anew in the spiraling political agenda and be looked at favorably.
